· The company promised to invest billion for a 49 per cent stake, with the rest belonging to the Bolivian state. The contract, which was to last for 70 years, permitted production of lithium hydroxide and hode materials (hydrated cobalt, nickel and manganese sulphates and iron phosphate of very high purity), then the cells and ultimately lithium ion batteries themselves.
